Celebration of Episcopal Divine Liturgy with Vespers, Blessing of Chrism Oil and Washing of Feet

April 11, 2017 – Clergy, Religious and the faithful gathered with His Excellency Most Reverend Bryan, Bayda, CSsR., on Holy Tuesday, April 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George in Saskatoon to celebrate the Episcopal Divine Liturgy with Vespers, Blessing of Chrism Oil and Washing of Feet. Other religious that were present included: Deacon Myron Yamiuk and Sister Servants of Mary Immaculate – Sr. Bonnie Komarnicki, Sr. Marijka Konderwicz and Sr. Georgia Shchavii. Altar Servers for this celebration were Joseph Bodnar and Bradley PIecowye.
This is the first year this celebration was celebrated in the evening of Holy Week, giving an opportunity for the faithful of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy, and especially for parishioners from the 3 parishes of the Saskatoon Deanery (Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George, Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God and Ss. Peter & Paul Ukrainain Catholic Church) to gather together as a community to witness the Blessing of the Chrism Oil and Washing of the Feet of the clergy by His Excellency Most Rev. Bryan Bayda, CSsR.
