In 2006, as our Church focused on her development and highlighted our spiritual and pastoral needs with the theme: “The Holiness of the unified people of God”, one of the first issues that arose was the question of faith. “Why do I believe in God? Why am I a Christian? Why am I a Catholic of the Byzantine tradition?” Working thru this plan, our Church developed a program to highlight the importance of pastoral service: “The Vibrant Parish a Place to Encounter the Living Christ” which emphasizes the Word of God and Catecheses. The catechetical book “Christ – our Pascha”, published on the 24 th of June 2011 provides an answer to these questions.
This year, we are celebrating the 5 th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of our Church. First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Lord our God, for His Grace which has allowed more and more of the faithful, from around the world, to learn about the roots of Christianity, deepen their faith and be able to discover their own identity in a modern world with, its challenges of globalization and assimilation whilst at the same time recognizing the universal value of our Eastern tradition.
