How does faith help fuel Canada’s GDP? Watch our new video for insight!

– Cardus Religious Freedom Institute

In recent years, the story of religion in Canada has not been told very well. We hear a lot about the negatives, but very little about the positives. For example, did you know about the hugely significant $67.5 billion contribution religion makes to Canada’s economy? In September, we released our report, The Hidden Economy: How Faith Helps Fuel Canada’s GDP, as one measurement of how religion is a force for good in our communities. That $67.5 billion estimate was one of our key findings. So, as we turn our minds to marking the feasts of Christmas and Hanukkah we want to renew our efforts to tell the story of religion in Canada better.

That is why we have just released a new video about The Hidden Economy. Click below to be among the first people who will get to watch it:

Once you have watched the video, would you also please consider sharing the video with your friends, family, and wider community whether through social media or other means? Feel free to use our hashtag: #hiddeneconomy. We need to tell the story of religion in Canada better and this video is one step in that process. Thank you.

Also, was there anything in the video that struck a chord with you? How does belonging to a faith community make a difference for you? We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts with us at info@cardus.ca.

Soon, the Cardus Religious Freedom Institute, along with the Religious Freedom Institute in Washington, DC, will be releasing a special interactive, online project on the historical development of religious freedom within the English legal and constitutional tradition. We are almost ready to release this excellent educational tool. You can expect to hear from us again when we launch the project later this week.

Thank you for your interest in Cardus. We wish you and yours all the best for the holy season ahead.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Andrew Bennett
