Soon to be released will be part one of The Laudato Si’ video series, a papal encyclical about God’s creation. The very title Laudato Si’, which means “Praise be to you, my Lord,” is adopted by Pope Francis from the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi for whom praise to the Creator is expressed through the songs and melodies of nature, through the rustling of the leaves, through the crashing of the waves and the howling of the winds. As religious leader of the Roman Church, Pope Francis, in Laudato Si’, exhorts humanity to care for the spiritual welfare of society, to preserve and sustain the environment, to ensure sustainability and longevity of the earth for future generations. He calls all human beings to come together, to improve human rights and respect human dignity, to attain social and economic justice, to affirm our moral responsibility, to be good stewards of the earth, and to care for all of creation.  This ancient title affirms not only our connection with all people but the kinship of all life.
