Notice: Facebook Feed Problem on Computers and Mobile Devices

— Therefore an issue on our Facebook Slider on our Eparchial and UCYA Websites

— Steps to take to make it work —

Yesterday evening (November 18th)  we noticed an issue on our Eparchial and UCYA website Facebook Sliders that are on the Home Pages. The Facebook Slider was now showing the message  “Your request couldn’t be processed...”.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue is causing, but this is a Facebook security issue (as they are using ‘cookies’), and therefore is beyond our control until they resolve their embedding issues. In the meantime there are steps you can take to override this issue for now.

Below is an image of what the Facebook Slider looks like on our Eparchial  website home page (this will appear on your computer and mobile devices):

On your devices, click on the blue “Close” button and it will spin, but eventually you will get a pop-up message that will say:

  • “Allow facebook.com to use cookies and website data while browsing skeparchy.org?”
  • Then there is a message option to “Don’t Allow or Allow” — Click on “Allow” and the Facebook Slider will then be visible (as this allows facebook.com to track your activity on our site).

Now each time that you go on your mobile device to our website the same message will show up on the Facebook Slider, but just click on the blue “Close” button  and the Facebook Slider will automatically open up.

Another Option for correcting this is if you have a Facebook Account:

On your computer

  • click on the Blue Facebook icon on the top of the website Home Page and when you get the message “Your request couldn’t be processed…”,  
  • click on the blue “Close” button
  • Now Login in to your Facebook account
  • When you go back to the Home Page, the Facebook Slider is now visible and will be visible each time you open our website.

On your mobile devices 

  • When you open our website, at the top of the page click on the Select Page     
  • from the drop down scroll down and click on the Facebook icon
  • when you get the message “Your request couldn’t be processed…”,  click on the blue “Close” button
  • Now Login in to your Facebook account
  • When you go back to the Home Page, the Facebook Slider is now visible
  • Now each time that you go on your mobile device to our website the same message will show up on the Facebook Slider, but just click on the blue “Close” button  and the Facebook Slider will automatically open up.

Again, we apologize for this inconvenience, but it is out of our control for now.  As soon as this issue is resolved (and we hope that it will be resolved quickly by Facebook),  you will automatically notice that the message no longer appears on the Facebook Slider.
