The Praznyk at the Shrine of Venerable Nun-Martyrs Olympia and Lavrentia of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Saskatoon on the Feastday of the New Martyrs of Ukraine on June 27. The Moleben was celebrated by Most Rev. Michael Smolinski, C.Ss.R., and concelebrating were Bishop-Emeritus John Pazak, C.Ss.R., of Phoenix, Very Rev. Ivan Nahachewsky, Vicar-General & Revs. Dmytro Dnistrian, C.Ss.R. and Taras Svirchuk, C.Ss.R. Brothers of the UCBC – Bishop Roborecki Branch were present to Honour Guard. Following the Moleben Rev. Sr. Sophia, Superior gave an address on the history and spiritual significance of the feast day, highlighting the example of Olympia and Lavrentia and their heroic witness in the Gulag system of the Soviet Union. A time of fellowship and refreshment followed hosted by the Sisters and a pleasant if not drizzly evening was had by all.
