St. Mary’s Church, Yorkton: Parastas and Funeral Divine Liturgy for +Father Lenonard Ratushniak took place on October 1 and 2, 2020

A Parastas and Funeral Divine Liturgy was held for +Father Leonard Ratushniak CSsR at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton on Thursday evening October 1st, and the funeral on Friday October 2nd.
Father Len was born in Canora on February 8, 1942, graduated from St. Vladimir’s College in Roblin, Manitoba and then pursued his seminary and theological studies in Ontario. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Andrew Roborecki at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton on June 24,1967.
His first assignment was as assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton (1968-72) and would return again in 1981-84 and then as pastor in 1990-96. While in Yorkton he was also editor of the Redeemer’s Voice Magazine.
Father Len passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the Holy Family Home in Winnipeg and was buried in Yorkton at the Redemptorist section of the Yorkton City Cemetery.
