October 23-2019: Commemmoration
of the 37th Anniversary
of the Passing of Bishop Andrew Roborecki

October 23, 2019 marks the 37th year of the passing of Bishop Andrew Roborecki, the first bishop for Ukrainian Catholics in the Eparchy of Saskatoon. The annual Bishop Roborecki Commemoration was held on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Following the 10:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy and Panakhyda Service, people were invited to the Cathedral Auditorium for lunch, a program, and the annual Disbursements to local organizations. 51 people were in attendance.
President Bro. Bernie Bodnar, KSV served as the MC for the event. The first item was the initiation of Bro. Linden Predy as the newest member of Bishop Roborecki Branch UCBC. This was followed by a delicious lunch organized by Bro. John Holowachuk, KSV and his assistants from the Social Committee.
Following the lunch, disbursements were made to representatives from the following organizations: Altar Servers and Children of Mary (Dormition, St. George’s Cathedral, and Ss. Peter and Paul Parishes), Bishop Filevich Ukrainian Bilingual School, Bishop Roborecki Catholic School, Musée Ukraina Museum, Sisters of St. Joseph of Saskatoon – Shoebox Campaign, Special Olympics – Zone 6, St. George’s Cathedral, St. Volodymyr Eparchial Camp, St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Park, Inc., and Bishop Roborecki Branch UCBC.
