On Saturday, October 26, 2019, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan is sponsoring a one-day, 6-hour workshop, “Introduction to Translation and Interpretation,” for individuals interested in translation and/or interpretation work. The focus is on key concepts in translation and interpretation theory and practice. Participants will sample various types of document translations and oral interpretations and will acquire some practical experience in both.

UCC Saskatchewan has created a Translation and Interpretation Professional Development Program to prepare prospective translators and interpreters to provide translation and interpretation services to newcomers. Professional development is delivered via 5 modules focussing on different categories in translations and interpretations. Module One, “Introduction to Translation and Interpretation, is prerequisite to enrolment in any of the other modules.

In the past nine years, UCC Saskatchewan has sponsored 12 orientation workshops for prospective translators and interpreters. Many workshop participants have later accepted translation and/or interpretation assignments from us and received remuneration for their services.

A workshop schedule and registration form will be sent to interested individuals.
For workshop details please contact George Zerebecky, Translation and Interpretation Services Coordinator at or phone 306.652.5850 (toll free 1.888.652.5850), ext. 105.
