A Quick Update

As Saskatchewanians are enjoying the arrival of hot summer weather, we want to update you on some of the ongoing work of our volunteer Board and committees.

The UCC Saskatchewan Board of Directors has been meeting regularly to discuss a range of issues aimed at assisting member groups with their COVID-19 related funding challenges. This includes exploring new Hromada Legacy Fund fundraising opportunities (stayed tuned for more details) as well as adapting grant criteria to better meet immediate needs.

Our Recognitions Committee has also been busy with both soliciting and assessing nominations for the Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards Class of 2020 as well as designing an online Honouree announcement to take place later in the Fall. More exciting news to come!

On behalf of UCC Saskatchewan, we extend best wishes for a Happy Saskatchewan Day long weekend.

Did you know?

Last year, our programs, services and projects were made possible thanks to the efforts of some 40 key volunteers consisting of board members, committee members, and other individuals from the community. They devoted a total over 1320 volunteer hours in supporting the activities of UCC Saskatchewan. Thank you for your dedication and generosity!

What’s Your Take?
Від Вас до нас!
One exciting way that Canada’s Ukrainian communities have adapted to the COVID-19 restrictions is by offering online festivals.

Festivals old and new — like the Vegreville Pysanka Festival, Ottawa’s Capital Ukrainian Festival, and, coming up this weekend, Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival from Dauphin (featuring the Yevshan Dancers) — have been entering the world of virtual performances.

Saskatoon’s Folkfest multicultural celebration will be “Giving Back” on Saturday 15 August.

Have you attended an online Ukrainian festival this summer?
