By joining our Belarusian friends at the rally on Sunday (Black Ribbon Day), by wearing white and red (colours of the Belarusian freedom flag). Feel free to bring Ukrainian flags and home-made signs of support.
On August 9, 2020, the Republic of Belarus held presidential elections—one the dirtiest, ballot rigged elections in Belarusian history. Peaceful protests across the country were brutally suppressed by forces of the corrupt regime of Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in power since 1994.

In November 2004, Saskatchewan’s Ukrainian community demonstrated solidarity with the people of Ukraine who were protesting falsified presidential election results at the time. Canada and the majority of the international community rejected the announced final results, stating they did not reflect the true, democratic will of the Ukrainian people due to serious and significant electoral fraud observed by international and Canadian election observers.
