Ukrainian settlement in the Uhrynow area began in 1905, and within a few years the community constructed their first church in 1909, dedicated to St. Stephen. As the population grew, the need for a larger church became apparent. In 1928, the present church was built and dedicated to St. Nicholas. It has been lovingly maintained over the last century, with major upgrades to the roof, windows, and exterior.
The Church of St. Nicholas at Uhrynow is served by clergy from the North Battleford & Hafford Pastoral District.
