On Christmas Day, at one of our parishes, there was a traditional pageant held which contained antisemitic content in the form of an antiquated and offensive characterization of a Jewish person. This does not represent our Ukrainian Catholic faith, and it should not have happened. Moving forward, we are taking steps to remedy the situation and to educate both clergy and laity about the harmful effects of antisemitic tropes, antisemitic expression, and antisemitism in its broadest sense.
